This is a very nice example of a late-model M35 Luftwaffe helmet featuring a 2nd Model Luftwaffe eagle decal. The decal remains approximately 85% intact, with minor chipping to the wing and lower leg of the swastika.
The exterior retains about 95% of its original factory-applied Luftwaffe gray-blue paint, with the majority of wear concentrated on the crown. There is minor surface rust, light scratches, and scattered signs of use consistent with field wear. There is a few dents caused by a bullet that entered the inside of the helmet.
The helmet is fitted with an aluminum-reinforced liner band dated 1940, with size 58 stamped, and appears original to the helmet. Notably, there is a bullet impact mark visible inside the liner area, with what looks like a ricochet tear through the leather. The leather liner remains complete, supple, shows matching wear consistent with the helmet’s condition, and retains its original drawstring.
All three split pins are original, paint-matched, and firmly in place. The helmet is also equipped with a brown Luftwaffe chinstrap, which has been slightly narrowed in width most likely done post war.
Overall, this is a very good condition, combat-worn Luftwaffe M35 single decal helmet with unique character and field damage that displays exceptionally well.
