Waffen SS Winter 3rd Pattern Winter Italian Camouflage Anorak -The anoraks are fully lined rabbit fur hoods
with four rows of reinforcement stitching and a drawstring. The hood is
large enough to accommodate a helmet. The interior hip pocket bags are
constructed in a combination of rabbit fur and wool/cotton material. The
anoraks were cut large to fit over the standard service uniform. Sizes will be 1 Medium
(38-40 Chest), 2 Large (42-44 Chest) and 3 XLarge (46-48) Chest. SOLD

Waffen SS Winter 2nd Pattern Winter Anorak- In the winter of 1942/43
brought many changes in winter clothing for German Wehrmacht (Armed Forces) due
to the lessons learned in the winter of 1941/42. The Heer (Army) developed
their own winter garments, and the Waffen SS developed a different winter
garment.
A fur lined one-piece pullover anorak. Waffen SS soldiers, in the
famous battle of Kharkov, very commonly wore this winter anorak in the winter of
1943. Depending on the availability of fur lining during the war, various
types were used on this garment. The
interior of the anoraks are is fully lined in multi-panel, patch worked,
brown and white mottled rabbit fur to the body and grey rayon to the sleeves.
The anoraks are fully lined rabbit fur hoods with four rows of reinforcement
stitching and a drawstring. The exteriors varied in colors as well. From seeing original
anoraks the colors varied from a mouse gray (commonly used), a gray brown color
and a fieldgray green color.
Ours is a mouse gray color due to the material we can get.
The second pattern of the anorak has two pleated chest pockets and
two lower pockets. The pockets have a 3-point flap.
The lower pockets are lined with wool and rabbit fur.
It has a 5-button front and the sleeves inside cuffs have an elastic
band.
The waist has a hemmed in, non-adjustable elastic band.
The hood is also rabbit fur lined with a drawstring and is wide enough to
accommodate the soldier’s head when he is wearing a helmet.

Waffen SS Winter 3rd Pattern Winter Anorak-The
early pull-over style anoraks proved unpopular with the troops as they were too
heavy and hot without enough ventilation. As a result a new pattern anorak, with
a full length, button up front closure, was introduced in early 1944, and
manufacture of the earlier pattern was discontinued. Our anorak is three quarter
length, fur lined, water repellent and made from a cotton duck material.
The anorak features a vertical, nine hollow backed button front closure with an
overlapping wind flap and an integral hood. The anorak has two pleated breast
pockets patch, breast pockets and two diagonally angled slash hip pockets all
with scalloped button down flaps. The anorak appears to have had a tunnel looped
fit adjustment elastic positioned at the waistline but it has been removed with
dual, horizontal rows of stitch holes remaining as evidence. The anorak has
straight cut, non-adjustable cuffs. Both the cuffs and the bottom edge of the
tail skirt have dual-ply hems. Both of the armpits have a small, opened,
horizontal ventilation slash. The interior of the anoraks are is fully
