These were used by telephone/signal corps/pioneers and would be standard issue. It held a report pad, pencils, tape, splicing knife, paper labels and a universal tool. There is a divider inside and provision to store a couple of pencils. There is a 3 letter code “bmn 42” and Waffenampt The size is approximately 8” x 9” x 2.75”. The belt loops are in good condition, the rings, on the rear (for wearing the pouch on the belt) are also in good condition, with very solid stitching. This is a rare item, great for collecting and display. It has the US Soldiers rank & last name carved on the front of the pouch that brought it home.
