Original German WWII Luftwaffe M35 Tri-Color Normandy Camouflage Helmet Q66- This M35 was manufactured by Quist and most likely a double decal Luftwaffe helmet and then it was refurbished in early 1940 with a rough textured Luftwaffe blue and made into a single decal. The camouflage is a rough sand mixture of tan paint and then with a very nicely done over spray of light green, dark green and maybe brown lightly sprayed onto the tan sand texture. We think the Luftwaffe decal is still underneath the camouflage paint. There are some areas of the textured finish came off and showing some surface rust. The liner is complete, but a little dry from years of storage. It is most likely a size 58 or 59. The split pins are original to the helmet and have most of the factory and camouflage paint missing, but only remnants remain. The liner band is too tight to see size and year. The chinstrap is complete with aluminum buckle & studs, but someone did re-enforce one end. It is manufactured marked and dated 1940. The interior paint of the helmet is there, but shows a good amount of it removed from age and use and some surface rust showing. It is a batch number 663, which Quist made Heer, Luftwaffe & Waffen SS double decals in the lot batch. It is a size 66 helmet shell. Overall a very nice original Normandy style camouflaged helmet that is intact. Very good condition.
