Description

This SA (Sturmabteilung) dagger, hailing from the early days of the Third Reich, bears the distinguished acid-etched motto "Alles für Deutschland" (Everything for Germany) alongside the Asso Solingen maker's mark, both executed with precision. While the blade exhibits some signs of age and slight runner marks, it remains in excellent condition, retaining its historical significance and character.
The handle features a beautifully preserved medium brown grip, showcasing minor surface wear that authentically reflects its age and use. The solid nickel eagle emblem, delicately detailed, fits perfectly and is a testament to the craftsmanship of its time. The SA roundel on the handle also boasts a flawless fit, enhancing the dagger's overall appeal.
Notably, the lower cross guard bears the Gau stamp "S" for Schlesien, providing a direct link to its historical context and origin.
The scabbard, although repainted, has been restored to the correct color, maintaining its visual authenticity. The screws securing the hardware have been loosened for repainting, but they are still intact. This slight loosening of the hardware does not detract significantly from the dagger's overall condition.
Included with this SA dagger is an original early SA dagger hanger, which, while showing signs of age and dryness, remains in serviceable condition, underscoring the completeness of the ensemble.
In conclusion, this early SA dagger with Asso Solingen etching is a valuable piece of history, offering collectors a glimpse into the early days of the Third Reich. Its very good condition, coupled with the presence of the original hanger, makes it a noteworthy addition to any collection.
