Original German WWII M35 Ex Double Decal Tropical Camouflage Heer Helmet ET64- The helmet started out as a Heer Double Decal and then most likely the Tri-Color was removed due to regulations. The Heer Eagle was most likely left on, but over time and combat use the decal was naturally or physically removed. The helmet was then spray gun Ordnance Tan camouflage paint and some of the Heer Eagle decal is seen under the paint. The aluminum reinforced liner band and chinstrap are dated 1939. The pins are not messed with and the liner is slightly loose from years of being worn in combat. Leather liner is complete with drawstring, but a little dry and could use some conditioner or left alone. Chinstrap is in excellent condition. A German soldiers last name is painted on the inside rear skirt and a name tag was sewn onto the leather liner, but removed and another name was under it. Believe the Lot# is 4611, but the last 1 is not fully punched into the metal making it hard to read. A nice very worn combat helmet with a lot of history if it could talk. The helmet was most likely used in either in North Africa or Sicily. Very good to excellent condition.
