Original Third Reich Reichsbund der Kinderreichen (RDK)- This pretty
little enamel pin was for the Reichsbund der Kinderreichen (RDK),
National League of Large Families. This was an organization that
predated the NS Machtergreifung, but became an important tool of the
regime. The aging body of the nation was of major concern to the
government and party. This organization was important in emphasizing the
crucial role of the family to the nation. The prominence of families
with only one or two children and the sponsorship and protection of the
Kinderreich family were issues of great concern in the years preceding
the National Socialists Machtergreifung (seizure of power). This is a beautifully
designed badge with a mother eagle with her five baby eagles under her
wings. There is a slight chip in the enamel near the "K".  On the back
is is marked “Ges. Gesch.” and a ‘B’ logo for the manufacturer.  Very
good condition.
