Original German WWII Winterhilfswerk (WHW) 1934 Aufwärts Aus Eigener Kraft (Upward From Own Power) TinnieA "tinnie" is a small, inexpensive badge or pin produced in large quantities by the NSDAP (1933-1945) to commemorate a wide variety of events, rallies, and fundraising efforts. Despite the name "tinnie," they were made from various materials including metal (aluminum, tin), plastic, glass, wood, or even pressed leather. There are estimated to be over 8,000 different designs of WHW items, ranging from regional crests to fairy tale characters.
The slogan on the tinnie "Aufwärts Aus Eigener Kraft" translates to “Upward through our own strength” or “Rising by our own effort.” This was a very typical slogan of early-era propaganda, emphasizing self-reliance and national rebuilding.
This little pressed metal tinnie is in good condition. The pin is intact on the reverse.
