*RARE* Original German WWII NS-Frauenschaft “Zum Muttertag” Presentation Sash/Ribbon
This is an original ceremonial presentation ribbon associated with the NS-Frauenschaft (National Socialist Women’s League). The red silk ribbon features printed white Gothic script reading:
“N.S. Frauenschaft Leonding”
“Zum Muttertag!”
Translated, the inscription reads “NS Women’s League Leonding – For Mother’s Day.” Leonding is a town in Upper Austria near Linz. During this time period, Mother’s Day celebrations were heavily promoted and often organized by the NS-Frauenschaft, which presented gifts, wreaths, and ceremonial ribbons honoring mothers.
The ribbon is constructed of red silk and measures approximately 282cm x 17.8cm (111" long x 7" wide). Both ends feature white roundels with black swastikas, and one end retains its original silver fringe decoration. The opposite end is finished in the typical pointed presentation style, suggesting the ribbon was likely used as a ceremonial wreath or presentation streamer during a Mother’s Day event.
The white lettering remains slightly visible. The ribbon shows expected period wear, light staining, and age toning, consistent with age. A rare and mostly preserved presentation ribbon, likely used during Mother’s Day ceremonies honoring German mothers.
