Original German WWII Refurbished Heer/Waffen SS M35 Helmet with Sawdust Tri-Colored Normandy Camouflage - Expertly crafted, this menacing helmet boasts a Sawdust Tri-Colored Normandy Camouflage that exudes an ominous aura. Originally a Double Decal helmet painted Pea Green, it underwent refurbishment during the war with a Dark Fieldgray textured paint finish and most likely a new liner. In a post-war touch, a ordnance tan base paint infused/mixed with sawdust served as the foundation for the camouflage, accentuated by green and brown hues. The artificial aging of the Normandy camouflage adds an authentic touch to the overall appearance.
The helmet features a reinforced aluminum liner, size 62/55, dated 1940, believed to be original to the helmet. Its dark brown aged leather liner with very minor damage, complete with an original drawstring, enhances both the historical and aesthetic value. Though retaining only a small piece, the original leather chinstrap adds to the helmet's authenticity. The German soldier's name, painted on the rear inner rim, has weathered with time, contributing to the helmet's character.
