Original German WWII SA Early Dagger by Paul Weyersberg & Co., Solingen With Hanger
This is an original early-production SA (Sturmabteilung) dagger, manufactured by the desirable Solingen maker Paul Weyersberg & Co. This dagger on a rarity scale 1 thru 10 is a 7. Paul Weyersberg & Co. made approximately 2000 of SA & NSKK early daggers. Blade: The blade is in very good condition, retaining a strong and clearly visible motto, “Alles für Deutschland” (“Everything for Germany”). The blade surface shows light age and minor spotting, but remains bright overall with visible crossgrain. The reverse is clearly marked with the Paul Weyersberg & Co., Solingen maker’s trademark, featuring the crossed swords and wreath logo.
Grip & Fittings: The wooden grip is shows a pleasing tone and natural grain. It retains the correctly inset SA roundel at the top and a well-detailed nickel eagle at the center. Both insignia are tight and show proper age. The grip shows light handling wear consistent with period use.
The fittings are solid nickel, typical of early production, and display a nice, even patina throughout. The cross guards remain well-defined with no major damage, and the pommel nut appears undisturbed.
Scabbard: The scabbard is the early anodized type, now showing honest period wear, oxidation, and finish loss throughout. The fittings remain tight, and the scabbard is free of major dents.
Hanger: The dagger is complete with its hanger, which shows noticeable age, dryness, and surface cracking to the leather, but remains intact and functional.
