Unissued Original German Late-War WWII Heer (Army) Steel Belt Buckle Marked RODO By Robert Dold
This original late-war Heer belt buckle is manufactured from magnetic steel and retains its original factory-applied field-gray finish. The surface shows light storage and handling wear with minor paint loss, entirely consistent with late-war economy production and not postwar use.
The obverse displays the standard “GOTT MIT UNS” (God With Us) legend surrounding the Army eagle and wreath. The strike exhibits the flatter, simplified characteristics typical of late-period manufacture, reflecting reduced tooling detail and wartime material constraints during Germany’s final production phase.
The reverse is of correct late-war construction, featuring a crimped catch and roller bar assembly. The maker mark “RODO” is clearly stamped beneath the catch in the proper position. All components are original and period-correct to the buckle.
RODO is the trademark of Robert Dold of Offenberg, a known wartime producer of Heer belt buckles, particularly associated with late-war steel examples.
A solid, honest unissued example of a late-war German Heer steel belt buckle, representative of the simplified construction and materials employed during Germany’s final wartime production period.
