Original German WWII Late War Black Leather Combat Belt RB Numbered (Damaged)
Original German WWII late-war black leather combat belt, correctly RB numbered, representative of economy production during the later war years. This example features a steel belt catch, factory painted fieldgray, with the RB number clearly stamped on the leather tab beneath the catch, a correct and desirable late-war characteristic.
The belt has seen post-war alteration and heavy use. It has been shortened by cutting, and multiple holes were added to the leather, likely for the display or attachment of medals or insignia, which have since been removed. One collar tab pip remains attached, adding an unusual field or post-war display element. These alterations are clearly visible and are reflected in the overall condition.
The leather shows honest age and wear throughout and is somewhat stiff from age and storage. Stitching at the belt tab remains intact, and the belt retains solid structure despite its shortened length.
A clearly altered but authentic late-war example, best suited as a study piece, display item, or representative RB-marked belt illustrating wartime shortages and post-war modification.
