Original German WWII DRK Sanitätslager Medical Pouch (Left Side) Marked

A desirable and well-constructed example of a German WWII DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz) Sanitätslager medical pouch, configured for left-side wear and retaining its original internal markings.

The pouch is constructed of blackened leather in the correct rigid box-style form, designed to protect and organize medical supplies in the field. It features a fitted lid with reinforced stitching and a sturdy overall build typical of DRK-issued equipment. The reverse retains its original dual belt loops and securing straps, all held firmly in place by period rivets, allowing for proper attachment to a field belt or support system.

The interior lid bears a clear ink stamp depicting the DRK eagle clutching the Geneva Cross with a swastika on its chest, along with a Vienna (Wien) address, consistent with known wartime production and distribution markings. The closure tabs are both clearly marked with an “L,” indicating left-side configuration, a desirable and often missing detail on these pouches.

Condition remains very good, with the leather retaining a solid structure and good integrity throughout. There is honest service wear present, including surface scuffing, edge wear, and areas of patina to the leather, all consistent with age and use. The stitching remains intact, and all hardware is present and functional. The interior shows expected wear from use, including staining and age toning, but remains complete and undisturbed.

Overall, a strong and well-marked DRK medical pouch with desirable internal stamp and correct left-side designation, making it an excellent addition to any WWII German medical, DRK, or field gear collection. In very good to excellent condition.
