Original German WWII Infantry Assault Badge In Silver (Unmarked)-
Introduced in 1939 by Generaloberst Walther von Brauchitsch. It was awarded to Officers, and EM/NCO's of non-motorized, Infantry, and Mountain Infantry units. Eligibility for the award required participation in at least 3 separate infantry assaults.
This authentic German WWII Silver Infantry Assault Badge is unmarked. It is crafted from zinc and still retains most of its original silver finish. It shows minimal signs of being worn or storage wear. It features an oval oak leaf wreath encircling a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, while diagonally across, a k98 rifle, complete with bayonet and carrying sling.
The reverse side features a soldered barrel hinge that is crimped and a vertical pin back secured by soldered wire catch. Despite age there is only minor storage wear on the back, the badge remains in excellent condition.
