Original German WWII Kriegsmarine Tropical Blouse (French Made)-

This is an original World War II German Kriegsmarine tropical officer’s blouse, manufactured in occupied France and clearly maker-stamped inside by C. Hiller S.A.R.L., 146 Faubourg Poissonnière, Paris. This distinctive Paris tailor’s mark identifies it as a locally produced garment for the German Navy during the occupation period, circa 1941–1944. The interior is also size-stamped “106 / 76” in blue ink.

Constructed of light brown tropical-weight cotton twill, this tunic follows the standard open-collar officer pattern used in warmer climates such as the Mediterranean, North Africa, and southern France. It features four pleated pockets with scalloped flaps, all secured by original matching anchor-embossed Kriegsmarine buttons, each attached with wartime aluminum “S-hook” retainers rather than thread — a recognized period field modification and often seen on French-made tunics for durability.

The Kriegsmarine breast eagle, mounted above the right breast pocket, is a gilt-finished metal example with fine detailing and shows age patina consistent with long storage. The reverse displays its original pin and hinge assembly, which remain intact and is not marked.

Both shoulder boards are present and original to the tunic, denoting a Kriegsmarine Medical Officer. Each features hand-stitched silver bullion braid with a dark navy underlay, accented by two silver pips and a gilt caduceus device, symbolizing naval medical service.

The tunic is unlined, showing typical tropical tailoring with interior reinforcement seams and integral internal pockets, a design that helped with cooling and ventilation in hot climates. The construction, thread color, and buttonhole style are all textbook examples of French wartime manufacture under German contract.

Condition overall is very good for its age, showing honest wear and a few small period imperfections:

Minor fabric wear and small rips/holes at the right cuff area.

Slight fading and light soiling from use and storage.

Buttons remain complete and firmly attached, all original.

The tunic presents exceptionally well for display, with its original insignia and hardware intact, and represents a scarce French-produced Kriegsmarine tropical officer’s garment. These Paris-made examples are far less common than standard German-manufactured tropical tunics and are sought after for their quality tailoring and occupation-era provenance.
