Original German WWII Luftschutz M42 Helmet NS62- Presented here is an authentic German WWII Luftschutz M42 Helmet with a distinctive NS62 shell, intricately repurposed by the factory for Luftschutz and Fire/Police use. Notably, the helmet shell bears the NS62 marking and exhibits a factory crack, skillfully welded during its original production. The weld, discreetly painted over with Luftschutz factory paint, authentically reflects a period-correct repair.
The exterior retains the majority of the factory-applied Luftschutz paint, showcasing the unique blend of historical craftsmanship and wartime wear. Despite minor rust spots, the overall condition is impressive, providing a tangible link to the era. This helmet does not feature a Luftschutz decal, preserving its originality.
Internally, the helmet boasts the original cloth-type liner, fully intact and accompanied by an authentic drawstring. The presence of the factory-applied Luftschutz paint is consistent both inside and outside, contributing to the helmet's authenticity. Notably, a plastic late-war chinstrap, indicative of the era, accompanies the helmet. However, it shows signs of aging with characteristic cracking.
