This is an original German WWII Heer M38 enlisted/NCO overseas cap, dating to the pre-war or early wartime period. The cap is constructed of field-gray wool and retains the desirable early style insignia configuration, featuring a BeVo woven national eagle and cockade on a dark green backing, characteristic of earlier production before simplified late-war materials became standard.
The eagle is a white threaded BeVo woven example with correct detail while the cockade is the early roundel style and period hand sewn on. Both insignia display honest wear consistent with extended service use, with no signs of postwar replacement or tampering.
