Rare Original German Pre-WWII Early NSKK Dagger by Carl Schmidt Sohn A.G.

This is an original early-period NSKK (National Socialist Motor Corps) dagger, produced by the respected Solingen firm Carl Schmidt Sohn A.G. This example represents an early production piece, prior to the later RZM-controlled period, and retains several desirable early features. This dagger on a rarity scale 1 thru 10 is a 9. Carl Schmidt Sohn A.G. made approximately 1000 of SA & NSKK early daggers.

Fittings & Grip:
The fittings are solid nickel, as expected for an early example, and exhibit a natural patina throughout. The cross guards are defined with no notable damage, and the pommel nut remains untouched. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “S” (Schlesien).

The wooden grip shows an attractive grain and a smooth, well-preserved surface. It retains the correctly inset SA roundel at the upper portion and a detailed nickel eagle at center. Both insignia remain tight and show a good aged patina.

Blade:
The blade is in excellent condition, exhibiting a strong and clearly defined motto, “Alles für Deutschland” (“Everything for Germany”). The obverse retains a clean, bright finish with visible cross grain, while the reverse is marked with the Carl Schmidt Sohn A.G., Solingen maker’s logo. The blade shows light age and a minor rust spot near the edge, consistent with careful use and storage.

Scabbard:
The scabbard is a early black painted
type with black anodize underneath the paint, which was common, showing period wear, oxidation, and finish loss throughout. This honest wear is typical of early black painted and anodized scabbards and reflects authentic age and use. Screws appear to be untouched. The ball at the bottom does have a slight split. Despite the finish wear and visible small dents, the scabbard remains structurally sound.

Hanger:
Not included.

This authentic NSKK dagger is complete with original scabbard and remains in very good to excellent condition.
