Original German WWII Heer Officer's Panzer Visor Cap Size 59This is an authentic Heer officer’s visor cap constructed of fine fieldgray wool with a dark green band. The cap features the classic high peak profile, with bright pink piping along the crown and flanking either side of the band, denoting service in the Panzer branch.
The exterior wool remains in good condition, showing only minor staining and mothing in a few areas. Both the aluminum eagle insignia along with the bullion wreath and cockade retain sharp details. The silver bullion chin cord remains bright and intact with little to no flaws. The black lacquered visor is intact and shows little to no cracking which is normally common with age.
The inside of the cap shows minor aging -- the satin lining and partial celluloid diamond are in place and show a bit of staining and separation. The maker mark "Ludwig Vögele, Mützenfabrik, Karlsruhe" of Germany is easily seen under the diamond. The size stamp 59 is visible. The leather sweatband shows some minor discoloration.
Overall, this visor cap is a very nice preserved example of a Panzer officer's visor cap, retaining its original character and displaying minor signs of age and use, a nice piece for any advanced WWII collection.
