Original German WWII Pre-War .7 Liter Non-Matching M31 Canteen With Cup DMN 37 & RFI 40
This is an original German WWII pre-war M31 canteen set, consisting of a .7 liter aluminum flask with cup and early felt cover. The flask, cap, and felt cover are all marked DMN 37, indicating pre-war production, while the canteen cup is marked RFI 40, making this a correct wartime non-matching set, as commonly encountered in service.
The aluminum cup is marked RFI 40, retains a good portion of its original black painted finish, showing honest field wear, chipping, and age consistent with wartime use. The flask remains in very good condition overall with clear DMN 37 markings and a well-fitting screw cap.
The felt cover is in solid condition, showing typical wear from use. The interior of the cover appears to have a period unit property marking.
The leather strap is complete but shows dryness and some cracking throughout, consistent with age and field use. Despite this, it remains intact and displays well.
