Original German WWII Tropical/Web Heer/Waffen SS Breadbag Strap
This is an original German WWII web breadbag strap, as issued to Heer and Waffen SS troops. While often associated with tropical equipment, web gear was increasingly issued across all fronts, particularly in the mid to late war period as material shortages influenced production.
The strap is constructed of olive-tan webbing and features reinforced web end tabs rather than leather, a correct wartime variation. The metal attachment hooks remain intact and fully functional, showing light oxidation consistent with age and service use.
There is a faint maker marking visible on the webbing, though no date can be clearly discerned. As is common with these web examples, markings are often lightly applied and can become difficult to read over time.
Condition is very good overall. The webbing remains strong and flexible, showing honest field use with some light discoloration and wear. The reinforced web end tabs are secure with intact stitching, and the metal fittings remain solid.
A nice original example of a wartime tropical/web breadbag strap, ideal for display, field gear setups, or completing a combat mannequin with correct late-war equipment.
