Original German WWII War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille) With Ribbon & Paper Packet
An original War Merit Medal (Kriegsverdienstmedaille), instituted in 1940, and awarded to German nationals and foreign civilians for exceptional service to the war effort. This medal comes complete with original issue ribbon and paper award packet.
This example is struck in bronze-colored metal and retains crisp detail throughout. The obverse features the War Merit Cross design with central swastika, while the reverse is correctly inscribed “Für Kriegsverdienst 1939.” The medal shows honest age toning and light surface wear consistent with period issue. The suspension ring is nicely intact. Overall in excellent condition.
