Original German WWII Heer M35 Ex-Double Decal Reissued Italian Front Tri-Color Camouflaged Helmet Size 62- M35 Heer Single Decal Tri-Color Camouflaged Helmet with an intriguing history. It appears to have undergone quite a journey, originally a Double Decal from the factory, then refurbished into a Single Decal. The decal may be the original factory decal, and has been outlined from the may layers of paint and most likely whitewashed over. The exterior boasts layers of paint, starting with tan most likely from North Africa or Sicily, followed by two shades of green and a red/brown camouflage for the Italian Front, with hints of a whitewash applied and then removed at some point. Notably, it features a late war RB Numbered brown chinstrap and a reissued liner dated 1941. While two front split pins match, the rear one differs, possibly the original factory-installed one marked B.u.C. Inside, I found two names inscribed on the leather liner, one of which appears scratched out. I took the liberty of adding an original drawstring as it was missing one.
Please note, there are some black paint specks likely from the helmet's previous storage, possibly a veteran's garage, and there's a thumbprint on the front visor from someone handling the helmet with paint on their thumb.
