Original Imperial German WWI M1915 Gas Mask (Size 3) With Filter & Canister

Offered here is an original Imperial German Model 1915 (M1915) gas mask set, complete with its correct screw-on filter and issue carrying canister. The mask remains in very good overall condition for its age and retains the full head harness/straps. The exterior canvas is intact and shows honest period wear, though it has become somewhat stiff from age—it can be left as-is for display, or very carefully worked if you prefer it to open up a bit more. The mask is size-marked “3” as visible on the fabric.

The filter is present and well-marked, showing the date “27. Juli 18.” along with additional stencil/inspection markings (including a red stenciled number), and remains a strong matching accessory to the set.

The metal canister retains the majority of its original gray-green factory paint, with typical storage wear, light surface oxidation, and scattered scratches. This is the early style canister with the snap-on lid (no hinge), and it closes properly. Inside the lid, the original internal wire retainers have been cut/removed (cleanly done). At the bottom of the canister is a spare lens pack, still present with the original German instruction printing.

All exterior canister straps are missing, but overall this remains a very nice WWI-era gas mask grouping—an increasingly scarce survivor, now over 100 years old.
