Original Japanese WWII Model 30 Arisaka Rifle Bayonet With Hooked Quillon Cross Guard & Scabbard

This is an authentic Japanese WWII Model 30 Arisaka bayonet, designed for the Type 30 rifle and also compatible with both the Type 38 and Type 99 rifles. Produced from 1897 through the end of World War II, these bayonets feature the distinctive hooked quillon cross guard, fullered blade, and "bird's head" pommel.

Blade:
The 40cm blade and appears to have never had any factory blued finish, but showing wear consistent with age. It is marked on the ricasso and stamped with a serial number on the pommel. The four cannonballs mark is associated with Kokura Rikugun Zoheisho (Kokura Army Ministry Armory) 1935–45. The blade was not fully blued at the factory, likely a wartime measure to reduce costs or accelerate production, and is sharpened approximately three-quarters of the way down.

Handle and Cross Guard:
The steel components show light wear to the bluing but remain in excellent condition overall. The hooked quillon cross guard is intact. The wooden grips display light aging and wear, but remain solid and nicely preserved.

Scabbard:
The bayonet is complete with its original steel scabbard, which retains much of its original finish with visible wear, scratches, and oxidation consistent with field use. It does have some slight very small dings/dents. The scabbard fits the blade properly.

Condition:
Overall, both the bayonet and scabbard are in very good condition. They appear to be a matching set, showing consistent wear and patina.
