Original Imperial Japanese WWII Rising Sun Cotton Flag (32" x 29")
An original Imperial Japanese WWII Rising Sun flag, constructed of lightweight cotton and featuring a silk-screened sunburst design. The red central disc and radiating rays are crisply applied, with the printing process clearly visible upon close inspection—typical of wartime production.
The flag retains strong, vibrant coloration overall, with only moderate fading and age toning consistent with period use. The cotton body exhibits a fine, tight weave, and the printed design remains well-defined across both the central disc and rays.
Two corners are reinforced with period-style imitation leather corner tabs, each fitted with original tie strings for mounting or display. These reinforced tabs are securely attached and show expected age-related wear.
CONDITION
The flag shows honest signs of age and service, including scattered staining, small holes, and areas of light soiling.
