Original German WWII Luftwaffe Brown Leather Belt 80cm Marked & Dated 1939 With 1st Model Luftwaffe Buckle
This is an original German WWII Luftwaffe enlisted man’s brown leather belt, complete with its First Model Luftwaffe aluminum buckle.
The leather belt is clearly maker marked and dated 1939, stamped “L.B.A.(S)” (Luftwaffen-Bekleidungsamt, Süd), indicating issue through the Luftwaffe Clothing Office (South). The maker mark and date are nicely visible. The belt appears to have been resized at one point by the factory, originally sized 100 or 110 and then resized to 80. The leather is a little stiff, shows expected age and wear from service use, with a nice, untouched patina. Stitching remains intact, and the belt is structurally sound. The belt tip is well marked, and the adjustment holes show typical period wear.
The unmarked 1st model aluminum buckle features the classic early-war design with a droop-tail eagle clutching a swastika within a wreath, set on a pebbled aluminum base. The reverse retains its original prongs and catch, showing correct period construction and honest service wear. Overall in excellent condition.
A very nice, honest example of an early Luftwaffe belt and buckle set in very good to excellent condition.
