Original Luftwaffe M35 Reissued Single Decal Helmet ET68- This original Luftwaffe M35 helmet, produced by Eisenhutten-Thale and sized 68, is a compelling artifact of its wartime era. Initially a double decal helmet, it was factory reissued with a new flat dark gray/blue paint in accordance with Luftwaffe specifications. Beneath this reissued paint, remnants of the original light gray Luftwaffe blue can be seen, particularly around the second model Luftwaffe decal, which is still about 90% intact. Majority of the paint is there with minor wear scratches and rust spots where the paint chipped off. The split pins retain a good amount of paint on them.
The helmet’s second model Luftwaffe decal was reapplied after the Tri-Color shield was likely removed before the repaint. Internally, the helmet showcases the reissued dark gray/blue paint. It comes with a factory-installed liner, aluminum-reinforced and dated 1940, sized 60. The leather liner is in excellent condition with the original drawstring intact, further enhancing its historical value.
Additionally, the helmet retains its original leather chinstrap, marked and dated 1938. Overall, this Luftwaffe M35 reissued helmet is in very good to excellent condition and serves as a remarkable piece of wartime history. The helmet also comes with 2 pages of a Signal magazine that was stuffed inside the liner.
