Although the 2nd model Luftwaffe decal and the tri-color shield were originally painted over during the reissue process, both decals have been uncovered post-war, revealing the helmet's earlier markings. The interior was also repainted with the same dark flat gray/blue textured finish.
The helmet no longer retains its factory-installed aluminum liner or split pins, which were likely removed after the war. Despite these changes, the helmet remains in very good condition, offering collectors a fascinating piece of Luftwaffe history.
