Original German WWII M35 Double Decal Polizei Ex SA-Feldherrnhalle Helmet Q64-
This is an authentic and historically significant M35 Double Decal Polizei Helmet that began its service life as an SA-Feldherrnhalle helmet, later factory reissued for Polizei use. The shell is maker-marked Q64 (Quist, Esslingen) and retains its original factory-applied brown SA-Feldherrnhalle paint beneath a later light green reissue finish typical of pre-war and early wartime Polizei refurbishment work.
The exterior shows clear evidence of its dual service life. The original brown SA paint can be seen beneath the lighter green Polizei reissue paint, particularly along the skirt, mostly near and on top of the dome and interior edges.
The Police decal on the left side has been completely removed, leaving only a faint outline visible. The National shield on the right side remains partially intact, showing wear typical of long-term service.
This layered finish perfectly represents the 1939–1940 transition period when helmets from the SA-Feldherrnhalle inventory were reassigned to the Ordnungspolizei.
The helmet retains its original 1939 dated liner band with a period leather liner showing honest field wear, little stiff, but complete. The original liner drawstring is missing. The faint dome acceptance stamp dated 1939 is visible inside the crown. The chinstrap remains in place with its original aluminum buckle, showing matching age and patina throughout. The leather chinstrap is stiff. It is maker marked and dated 1939.
