Original German Pre-WWII N.S.D. Marine-Bund Bundestagung Düsseldorf 1937 Tinnie
An attractive and uncommon original German pre-WWII-era tinnie issued for the N.S.D. Marine-Bund (National Socialist Naval Association) Bundestagung (National Conference) held in Düsseldorf in July 1937.
The obverse features a detailed depiction of a Kriegsmarine warship above the embossed inscription:
“N.S.D. Marine-Bund
Bundestagung
Juli 1937
Düsseldorf”
At the bottom is a national eagle clutching a mobile swastika above crossed swords, completing the strong nautical and political design typical of pre-war Third Reich organizational event badges.
Constructed of lightweight aluminum, this example retains much of its original silver finish with pleasing age and light wear from period use. The reverse is plain with its original horizontal pinback attachment still intact. The aluminum construction and simple fastening method are characteristic of period-produced event tinnies from the late 1930s.
A desirable naval-related political event badge from the pre-war Third Reich period that would display well in any tinnie or Kriegsmarine collection.
