Rare Original German WWII SA Dagger (Formerly NSKK) M7/2 By Emil Voos With Double Hangers
This is an original German WWII SA dagger that began its service life as an NSKK example, with the scabbard period repainted. It is complete with its black leather hangers, and the blade is correctly marked M7/2 for the well-known maker Emil Voos of Solingen.
Blade: The blade retains a bright finish with highly visible crossgraining and is in near mint to excellent condition. The motto “Alles für Deutschland” remains clearly etched. There is light surface wear and minor marks consistent with age, but overall the blade presents exceptionally well. The lower reverse of the blade is properly RZM marked M7/2, confirming Emil Voos production.
Grip & Fittings: The wooden grip is in excellent condition, displaying a rich brown tone with attractive wood grain and only light handling wear. The SA roundel is intact, and the eagle remains nicely detailed with strong definition. The grip fits tightly and correctly to the crossguards. The nickel-silver fittings show expected light wear and surface marks consistent with age. The pommel screw remains untouched, showing no signs of having been turned or loosened.
Scabbard: The scabbard is an ex-NSKK example, originally factory finished in black for NSKK service. The original owner most likely transferred into the SA and had the scabbard professionally repainted brown during the period, likely by a manufacturer or qualified workshop.
The scabbard retains its SA brown overpaint, showing honest wear, scattered marks, and areas of finish loss from period use, with the underlying NSKK black paint visible in places. The fittings show age and oxidation but remain solid and intact. The scabbard screws appear untouched and show no signs of having been removed or disturbed. Overall, the scabbard is structurally sound and displays very well.
Hanger(s): The dagger is complete with NSKK two hangers. The primary black leather hanger remains attached to the scabbard and shows light age, wear, and some dryness but remains intact. The interior of the hanger is RZM marked. The metal clip is clearly stamped RZM M5/8 (Assmann & Söhne), and all hardware is present and fully functional.
The upper handle strap, with attached belt loop, is also constructed of black leather and shows light age, wear, and minor dryness but remains intact. The interior of the belt loop is RZM marked.
Condition: Overall, this is a rare and desirable SA dagger in excellent condition. It represents a transitional piece, reflecting an NSKK member transferring into the SA and retaining his dagger, with the scabbard repainted while keeping the original NSKK black leather hanger and belt loop. A scarce and historically interesting example. Certain symbols have been censored (pic 5).
