Original Third Reich SA Dagger Marked RZM M7/13 By Arthur Schuttelhofer

This is an original and attractive Model 1933 SA Dagger produced under the RZM system by Arthur Schüttelhofer & Co. of Solingen-Wald, bearing the correct RZM M7/13 maker designation.

The blade remains in very good to excellent condition, displaying a strong and even crossgrain that runs the full length and catches the light beautifully. The crisp, deeply etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto is sharp and well defined, as is the RZM maker mark on the reverse. There is some honest age and light spotting visible toward the tip, consistent with period use and storage, but no abuse. Overall presentation of the blade is excellent.

The steel-based scabbard retains its original brown factory paint and remains completely dent free. It shows only minor surface scrapes and light spidering on both sides, while still retaining full paint coverage. The nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings are in outstanding condition, retaining approximately 99% of their original plating, including the lower ball, which is free of dents or dings. All four screws are present and remain tightly secured. The scabbard and crossguard fit together tightly and correctly. The internal lower scabbard weight is loose inside, a not uncommon trait, and does not detract from the overall condition or display.

The zinc-based, nickel-silver plated crossguards show only light age toning and remain well fitted. The brown hardwood grip is in excellent condition, free of cracks or chips, and fitted with a nicely detailed aluminum SA eagle. The SA roundel retains 99%+ of its original enamel, sits perfectly flush in the grip, and displays excellent color and detail.

The dagger is accompanied by a hanger fitted with original period hardware. The leather portion is a later replacement, likely made using the deteriorated original as a template, with the original fittings carefully reused. While not factory original leather, it remains a correct and well-matched display hanger for the dagger.

A very well-preserved and visually appealing example of an RZM-period SA dagger by a respected Solingen maker—ideal for both advanced collectors and high-quality display.
