Original Pre-WWII HJ Screen Printed ArmbandBetween 1936 and 1945, the National Socialist Party sought to extend its influence across all facets of German society. The H- Youth (H- Jugend) was established as the Party’s official youth organization, indoctrinating boys aged 14–18 with National Socialist ideology and preparing them for future roles within the regime. This is an original H- Jugend (H- Youth) armband, constructed in the screen-printed pattern, as issued for wear on HJ uniforms during the Third Reich period. The armband is made of red cotton cloth with a white center band and a black swastika, screen printed directly onto the fabric rather than being a separately applied multi-piece construction. This method of manufacture was commonly used on later or economy-type armbands and for youth organizations such as the H- Jugend. This example has been shortened and removed from a uniform, as evidenced by its reduced length and visible stitching remnants. The reverse clearly shows period hand-stitching, consistent with wartime attachment to a garment sleeve. The printing exhibits proper ink saturation and bleed-through, confirming original period production. The armband displays honest wear, including age toning, scattered staining, fabric thinning, and edge wear, all consistent with wartime or pre-1945 use. No modern repairs or restoration are noted. Overall in very good condition.
