Original German WWII Heer Officer’s Dove Head Sword By WKC

Offered is an original German WWII Heer (Army) officer’s dove-head sword, a classic and elegant pattern carried by commissioned officers throughout the Third Reich period. This example was manufactured by the highly respected Solingen firm Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co. (WKC), renowned for producing some of the finest edged weapons of the era.

The gilded brass hilt features the distinctive dove-head pommel with well-defined detailing, paired with a matching decorative crossguard exhibiting crisp oakleaf and military motif engravings. The grip retains its original black celluloid covering, tightly wrapped with intact twisted brass wire, showing honest age and light handling wear consistent with period use.

The bright, polished steel blade remains in very nice condition, displaying a clean surface with only minor scattered scuffs from age and storage. The blade is maker marked with the WKC knight’s head logo, confirming wartime Solingen manufacture. The blade profile remains straight and true, with a sharp, well-defined point. The original brown leather buffer is still in place.

The original black-painted steel scabbard is present and complete, showing typical age wear, small surface marks, and finish loss consistent with decades of storage. The suspension ring remains intact, and the scabbard retains its correct form without dents or structural issues.

Overall, this is a very attractive and honest example of a WWII Heer officer’s sword by a top-tier maker. A fine display piece suitable for any advanced German edged weapon collection, officer grouping, or period uniform display.

Original Third Reich example, which shows expected age wear throughout. No cleaning or restoration observed. Overall in very good to excellent condition.
