This authentic Double Decal M34 Fire/Police Helmet is a fine example of a wartime-issued piece, retaining its original liner and showing honest signs of use and age.
EXTERIOR Shell: The helmet retains a good portion of its original black factory finish, exhibiting typical age and service wear throughout. The surface shows scattered scuffs, light scratches, and areas of finish thinning consistent with use and storage. The paint displays natural crazing and patina, with small areas of oxidation visible along the high points and rim.
Decal(s): *The police shield decal has not been censored, but in fact there is a paint chip in the center.* Both decals shows minor wear and flaking, but remains clearly identifiable with strong overall eye appeal. Split Pins: All four original split pins are present and undisturbed, showing age and surface oxidation consistent with the rest of the helmet.
INTERIOR Shell: The helmet retains a good portion of its original black factory finish, exhibiting typical age and service wear throughout. Liner: The interior retains its original liner system. The leather liner remains present and intact, showing typical age toning, light dryness, and honest service wear. The leather is marked size 57. The finger tabs remain complete with expected wear from use and the original leather drawstring is included. The liner does have the owners name written with a pen on the leather.Chinstrap: Unfortunately, the original chinstrap is broken most likely due to age. The remaining hardware shows age and surface oxidation consistent with long term storage. CONDITION Overall, this helmet remains in very good, solid condition. The decals are still vibrant and largely intact. Aside from the broken chinstrap, this is a well-preserved and desirable historical Fire Police helmet with strong display appeal.
