This is an original WWII-era M1 helmet featuring a fixed bale and front seam design, complete with its original web chinstrap. The helmet shell retains approximately 98% of its original OD green paint with a cork-textured finish, showing some wear along the outer edge and minor scrapes on the dome. Original leather sweatband: Slightly dry but still supple; could benefit from conditioning (good to very good condition).
Original neckband strap: Intact, though the size marking is unreadable. Some fraying at the ends and light surface rust on the metal hardware (good condition).
Leather chinstrap: Present but broken and somewhat dry (poor condition).
Liner exterior: Paint is 98% intact, featuring a soldier’s last name stenciled in white on the front (excellent condition).
This helmet appears to have seen little use, making it a great addition to any WWII militaria collection.
