Unissued Original US WWII M1 Swivel Bail Helmet With Inter. Molded Plastics, Inc. Liner
Offered is an original US WWII M1 helmet consisting of a swivel bail steel shell paired with an original Inter. Molded Plastics, Inc. (IMP) liner. This example appears to have seen little to no service use and remains in exceptionally well-preserved condition.
The shell features a front seam rim and swivel chinstrap bales. The shell retains its original olive drab corked finish, showing minimal surface scuffs consistent with age and handling. The web chinstrap is present and intact, with correct period hardware.
The helmet is fitted with an original WWII Inter. Molded Plastics, Inc. liner (see logo photo 14). The liner retains its original olive drab painted finish and remains exceptionally clean. The suspension system is complete and intact, with all web straps present and showing little wear. Retains the original nape/neck strap in excellent condition. The leather sweatband remains supple, well-preserved and in mint to excellent condition. The leather chinstrap is nicely preserved, only showing age related wear and cracking. Overall, the interior presents as an outstanding example of an unissued wartime liner.
Overall this set is in near mint, excellent condition.
