Unissued Original US WWII Marine Corps (USMC) M1941 Lower Backpack Unmarked

This is an original WWII-era U.S. Marine Corps M1941 Lower Backpack, a component of the early-war USMC field gear system. The M1941 Marine pack configuration differs from standard U.S. Army equipment and is notably less common, making surviving examples increasingly desirable among serious USMC collectors.

This example represents the lower portion of the M1941 pack assembly and was designed to attach to the upper haversack, providing additional carrying capacity for clothing, rations, and field necessities. It is constructed of heavy khaki canvas with olive drab web reinforcements, correct wide web straps, and proper metal attachment hooks. The stitching pattern and construction details are consistent with original WWII USMC production.

There are no visible maker stamps or markings present on this example. Unmarked USMC field gear is not uncommon, as many early-war Marine Corps items were either lightly stamped or left unmarked altogether.

Condition is excellent and appears unissued. The canvas remains clean and firm with only very minor storage toning from age. The webbing is crisp and strong, hardware retains its original finish, and all stitching remains tight and intact. The interior is equally well preserved, showing no field wear.
