Original Waffen SS EM/NCO SS Belt Buckle Type II by Assmann Marked RZM 155/40 SS
Offered is an authentic Waffen SS EM/NCO Belt Buckle marked RZM 155/40 SS. This marking signifies production by Assmann & Söhne of Lüdenscheid. This Type II buckle features the SS national eagle clutching a laurel wreath encircling a static swastika. The emblem is encased within a circular border, twisted rope, outlined with the Gothic script motto, "Meine Ehre heißt Treue!" (My Honor is Loyalty!).
This Type II buckle is distinguished by the relocation of the RZM marking from the front to beneath the prongs, a feature highly coveted by collectors. Most of the original gray/silver factory paint has worn away from the front; in addition it bears minor scratches and worn areas on the raised portions. The back of the buckle displays wear to the paint, which is about 50% still there and rust spots throughout. Notably, the RZM 155/40 SS marking beneath the prongs remains visible, confirming its authenticity. Overall remains in good condition.
