Original US WWII M1916 Leather Holster by Warren Leather Goods Co.
This is an original US Army M1916 leather holster manufactured by Warren Leather Goods Co. Intended for the Colt M1911 .45 caliber automatic pistol, this holster type was standard Army issue.
The large “U.S.” oval stamp on the flap remains clearly visible, and the front still retains the original brass closure stud. On the reverse, the maker’s marking “Warren Leather Goods Co” is clearly legible, along with dual belt slots and wire hooks for mounting on the M1936 pistol belt or other field gear. A personal inscription has been carved into the leather on the back. The holster is not dated.
The stitching is strong throughout and the leather flap opens and closes smoothly. The interior shows normal wear from an inserted pistol. The thigh strap is present. Due to age we always recommend handling leather items with some caution due to age especially ones that appear dry and cracked. The leather on this holster is still rich colored and supple.
