Original German WWII Winterhilfswerk (WHW) Ancient Germanic Shields (Set of 5)A "tinnie" is a small, inexpensive badge or pin produced in large quantities by the NSDAP (1933-1945) to commemorate a wide variety of events, rallies, and fundraising efforts. Despite the name "tinnie," they were made from various materials including metal (aluminum, tin), plastic, glass, wood, paper, or even pressed leather. There are estimated to be over 8,000 different designs of WHW items, ranging from regional crests to fairy tale characters.
This set of 5 zinc Germanic shields has a fake 1/2 gem stone in the center and all pinbacks are intact. A full set contains 7 shields. All shields are clearly marked on the reverse side.
All are in very good condition.
