Original German Early SS Nickel Silver Belt Buckle – O&C Ges. Gesch. Overhoff & Cie
This example is produced from nickel silver, a material characteristic of early and pre-war SS production, prior to the later transition to aluminum and steel. The obverse features the correct pattern eagle and wreath with the “Meine Ehre heißt Treue” motto, exhibiting strong detail and proper early strike characteristics. The rope border, pebble field, and overall form are consistent with known original Overhoff manufacture.
The reverse shows correct early construction, with integral catch and roller bar assembly. The maker marking “O&C Ges. Gesch.” is clearly stamped, correctly attributing this buckle to Overhoff & Cie. The buckle shows honest period wear, surface oxidation, and natural patina, consistent with age and use, with no repairs or alterations noted.
A solid and desirable example of an early SS nickel silver belt buckle by one of the best-known manufacturers.
