Original British WWII MK II Paratrooper Helmet By Briggs Motor Bodies Size 7 3/4 Dated 1943 Original British Mk II paratrooper helmet with the leather liner marked “BMB,” dated 1943, and sized 7¾. The exterior has a textured green finish with scattered scuffs, scratches, and paint loss along the rim. The exterior paint may be a postwar application; its age has not been confirmed. The inside retains its factory paint with scattered surface oxidation.
The light-colored herringbone suspension webbing remains well-preserved, complete with its adjustment cord and black crown pad. Although unissued, the leather liner has substantial deterioration from age and storage, including darkened areas, cracking, and sections of leather loss exposing the underlying padding. The surrounding black cushioning also shows cracking and deterioration.
The khaki web chinstrap assembly remains present with its adjustment fittings and leather chin cup. The webbing shows some discoloration but remains well-preserved overall. A dated WWII airborne helmet with clean suspension webbing and clearly documented liner deterioration. Please review the photographs for condition details.
