Original German WWII M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe ET64
This original German WWII M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe helmet is a size ET64, indicating manufacture by Eisenhuttenwerke, Thale. It retains much of its factory-applied Luftwaffe gray-blue textured paint, with some rust spots and surface wear on the exterior. The 2nd Model Luftwaffe decal remains approximately 85% intact, with a small chip on the eagle’s body and claw, along with minor scratches and wear.
The helmet still features its original leather liner, which remains supple and retains its original drawstring. The liner is ink-stamped size 56. The original chinstrap is present, though slightly dry, and is an early pre-/early war type with an aluminum buckle. It is faintly maker-marked but is likely not the original factory-applied chinstrap. However, as this is how we received the helmet, we can only assume it was period-applied.
The interior shows some paint loss around the edges and features a dome stamp. Overall, this is an excellent example of an M42 Single Decal Luftwaffe helmet, ideal for collectors.
