Offered here is an original pre-WWII period DRKB Kyffhäuser Veterans Association visor cap, constructed from dark blue wool with a black woven cap band. The band features woven Kyffhäuser and national symbols around its circumference. The cap is presently somewhat misshapen from age and storage and would benefit from being placed on a proper hat form to restore its intended profile.
The front displays the distinctive DRKB Kyffhäuser metal cap insignia, consisting of a gold colored wreath surrounding an enameled central device depicting the Kyffhäuser Monument above the national symbol. Below is the traditional German national cockade. Both insignia exhibit honest age and wear and display nicely.
The interior is lined in blue material and retains its original brown leather sweatband. The celluloid sweat shield remains present and is marked “Deutscher Reichskriegerbund Kyffhäuser (e.V. geschützt)” with the organization's monument emblem. Beneath the sweatband is an original “D.R.K.B. ‘Kyffhäuser’ Mütze” manufacturer's/issue label with a handwritten size of approximately 59½.
Overall, this is a good, service used example of an original DRKB Kyffhäuser veterans visor cap. Refer to photos for mor.e details and actual condition. *U.S. Veteran Bringback*.
