Original German WWII Heer Officers Dagger By WKC This is an original German WWII Heer Officer’s dagger manufactured by WKC of Solingen. It is a very attractive example featuring a bright orange grip and a clean blade with abundant original cross-graining.
The blade remains full and bright, retaining a considerable amount of its original factory cross graining on both sides. It exhibits only a few scattered surface marks and minor areas of discoloration. The reverse ricasso is clearly etched with WKC’s trademark knight’s head logo and “WKC Solingen.”
The beautiful orange grip remains in very good to excellent condition, retaining strong color and showing no cracks, but there is a very minor chip at the top in back near the pommel. The silvered pommel, ferrule, and crossguard display attractive age toning with well defined decorative details. The crossguard features the traditional Heer eagle with outstretched wings, while the pommel and ferrule retain their oak-leaf decoration.
The matching silvered scabbard retains its pebbled finish and both decorated suspension bands with their carrying rings. It displays expected age toning and light wear. There is one minor dent on the front and four small dents on the reverse. These are relatively minor and do not significantly detract from its overall appearance.
Overall, this is a very nice WKC Heer Officer’s dagger highlighted by its attractive orange grip, well detailed fittings, and especially desirable blade with extensive original cross graining.
