This is an original German WWII Reichskriegsflagge (War Flag), measuring approximately 80cm x 135cm (31" x 53"). This double-sided flag is constructed from a wool/blend material. The hoist is clearly period-ink stamped: “Kr. Fl. 80 × 135” (designating War Flag, size 80 × 135 cm) and “Lorenz Summa Söhne, Oberkotzau” (the known wartime manufacturer). The flag remains in exceptionally well preserved, near mint to mint condition and may possibly be unissued. There are virtually no noticeable flaws. The overall condition is remarkable considering the flag's age and large size. The fabric remains clean and well preserved, with strong coloration and very little evidence of handling, display, or use.
This size of Reichskriegsflagge was commonly issued for small naval vessels like U-Boats, coastal installations, military buildings, and official government structures. This flag has been nicely preserved and remains in mint condition.
