Original German WWII Ostvolk Medal 2nd Class Bronze With Swords & Ribbon
Offered is an original German WWII Ostvolk (Eastern Peoples) Medal, 2nd Class with Swords, complete with its period ribbon. Officially titled the Bravery and Merit Decoration for the Eastern Peoples, this award was instituted in July 1942 and issued to Eastern volunteers and auxiliaries for service to the German war effort.
This example is struck in zinc with a bronze finish, showing typical age toning and light oxidation from wartime production. The obverse features the classic radiating sunburst with central floral rosette and crossed swords, while the reverse remains plain, as issued. The medal retains its original suspension ring and correct ribbon, which shows honest wear.
Overall, a solid original example in very good to excellent condition.
